Sifu Silvana is a University of Waterloo Alumni who has been in the martial arts for over 25 years. She currently holds a 3rd Level Black Sash.

 

Silvana has amassed an international social media following with over 1 million followers across her TikTok, Instagram and YouTube platforms. Showing her talents both as an instructor and student, she has become a strong female figure in the Martial Arts world.

She has been recognized by Prime Ministers including the current Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Sport for being the Head Captain for the Canadian National Martial Arts Team.

She is currently the Waterloo Director of the Canadian National Martial Arts Team.

Previously, Silvana was the main feature on Rogers’s TV which featured female athletes in Canada. She currently holds 2 Guinness World Record titles:

 

1. Most Items Kicked Off People’s Heads in One Minute: 59 objects

 

2. Most Martial Arts Kicks by A Pair in One Minute (female): 178 kicks (done with our student Sijay Hannah)

 

A few of her competitive Martial Arts accolades:

  • International Congress of Martial Arts, multiple Triple Crown winner.

  • PMA (Professional Martial Arts Alliance), multiple Triple Crown provincial titles.

  • 2006, Goodwill Games in Dominican, gold in forms, gold in weapons, gold in sparring, silver in chanbara, silver in synchronized, bronze in wushu forms, and bronze in open forms. By winning 3 golds, she won the title of Triple Crown World Champion

  • 2007, Goodwill Games in Cancun, gold in forms, gold in weapons, gold in sparring, silver in synchronized, bronze in wushu forms and bronze in wushu weapons. By winning 3 golds, she once again won a title of Triple Crown World Champion.

  • 2008, Goodwill Games in Puerto Vallarta, Silvana won gold in forms, gold in weapons, and a gold in sparring. Silvana was not only presented as a Triple Crown World Champion, she was also the undefeated sparring competitor for 4 years.

  • 2008 & 2009, Universal Black Belt Hall of Fame for Female Black Belt Competitor of the Year.

  •  2009, Goodwill Games in Cuba, Silvana won gold in forms and silver in sparring.

  • International Congress of Martial Arts, undefeated athlete winning sparring every year for over 10 years.

  •  She has earned titles in multiple governing bodies including, PKC, PMA, WCMA, WCOAA, ICoMA, UMAHoF, NMAC, NASKA and more.

  • Current sponsored athlete with Team NMAC.
